DIU HYCAT mission
In the US Department of Defence's (DoD) pursuit of developing hypersonic defence capabilities, the Defence Innovation Unit (DIU) established the hypersonic and high-cadence testing (HYCAT) program. This project is designed to prototype low-cost, high-cadence, dual-use hypersonic aircraft to capture data that accelerates the production of future systems, with Hypersonix being awarded the first contract.
First flight for Australian hydrogen-fulled hypersonic aircraft
Hypersonix's DART AE will be deployed into a suborbital hypersonic flight environment, using Rocket Lab's HASTE rocket, where it will gather critical data across propulsion, aerothermal performance and vehicle control.
