The first launch of DART is under HyCAT with the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) which Hypersonix was awarded in March 2023. The launch will be from the US and the boost for the first launch will be provided by Rocket Lab on their HASTE rocket. The first launch will show speeds of Mach 7, a range of 1,000 kilometers, the hydrogen fuelled SPARTAN scramjet engine to be switched on and off several times as well as a non-ballistic trajectory.
